A new HSP board
Welcome, or welcome back, everyone! This is the latest edition of Our HSP Home, a support forum for those who self-identify as Highly Sensitive. Our previous forum, which had been in existence since 2008, unfortunately had a massive system failure several weeks ago, and all data was lost. However, the list of members was still available, so information was sent out to all previous members in the hopes that we can, yet again, bring this board back to life. Please join us! We'd love to reconnect with those we haven't seen for a while, and keep the connection with those who have been with the forum for a long time.

Re: A new HSP board
Good for you, for still having a mailing list-- better than what happened with the old aimoo community.
It's just sad that so much data is lost... but maybe it's just the way of free hosting sites.

Glad to be back
I was on the old old forum and when that went away I lost track. I'm glad to be back and see some familiar names. Thank you to the organizers for doing this.

Re: A new HSP board
Hello everyone! It's so nice to see you all and to have members joining.. some new and old!! Yes, thank goodness we were able to dig out the email list from many years ago. We felt terrible about people not knowing what happened or how to find us.

Re: A new HSP board
I thought I would just mention here that the forum is still evolving - we've been tinkering with it a bit today and will likely continue to do so, so if you see things moving around or disappearing or notice other minor changes in the coming days/weeks, you'll know why! We are obviously trying to recreate it as close to the other forum as possible, so we'll add in some of the old sticky threads as we think of them. And if we can upload more smileys, we will, but maybe not immediately...

Thank you, admins. It looks much like the former one (forumer) so there will not be too much of a learning curve and minimal angst getting used to using this one. Thanks for your hard work. It's good to feel we're back among family

Re: A new HSP board
Kathi, Luna, Safari, thanks so much for getting the board back. And I am excited to see some old members returning. Perhaps we can have an HSP reunion.
I am not able to add an avatar? Where do I go to do that.

Re: A new HSP board
I am very glad you were able to access old membership records; it does come in handy when the unthinkable happens. I too have gotten in the habit of saving the membership list of HSP Dimension to my hard drive just in case, always mindful of what happened to AIMOO and with other boards later.
It won't be long before Our HSP Home is full of new posts and threads, humming away as it once did.
This host seems to be stable too if quirky at times. They also back up boards on a different server than the primary board so that makes things even more secure.
I was blocked from the old board when the host upgraded and lost my password and I wasn't able to reset it. It's nice to be back. (My username on the old board was Sequoia.)

Re: A new HSP board
Melodiccolour, I didn't realise you couldn't access the old board! This 'crash' is sort of turning out to be a good thing in some ways - it's bringing a lot of people back!
FKK, if you click on 'profile' along the top there (under the "Our HSP Home" banner), it will take you to your profile page...and there are some tabs across the top of it. Click on 'avatar', and you can put one in from there. Just make sure it's within the maximum parameters (150 pixels width by 200 pixels height, and 64kbs). I added mine in by first saving it on my Photobucket account and then making it smaller so it would fit here, then linking to it from there (copy and paste the url into the box here). If you have your own photo you want to put in, you can use the 'choose file' button (although I haven't tried that so not sure how it works. Looks like a couple of other members have done that, though). Or you can take the easy option and just choose one from the gallery here - click on 'show gallery' and it will give you a whole bunch of different categories (mostly TV and cartoon characters, but there are some others). Hope that helps - let us know if you're still having trouble.

Yes, of course I'm disappointed that we lost several years' worth of data, but I'm delighted to see so many people joining up here.

FYI, if you have an iphone (or I suppose any mobile) this board has a mobile set up... so I can read it on the iphone. Sweet.

Yes, the crash might be a good thing in the end because contacting past members via email to let them know has brought many back!
